The percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19 has continued to decrease in all UK countries.
In the latest week it ranged from 1 in every 35 people in Scotland and Wales to 1 in every 55 people in Northern Ireland.
We have also recently published data which show most clinically extremely vulnerable people are still following COVID-19 precautions, with 13% still shielding.
Lastly, the Black Caribbean ethnic group is shown to be the least likely to have had a third vaccine dose.
The percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19 continued to decrease in the latest week in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland (week ending 7 May 2022).
The estimated percentage of the community population that had COVID-19 was:
- 2.21% in England (1 in 45 people)
- 2.91% in Wales (1 in 35 people)
- 1.84% in Northern Ireland (1 in 55 people)
- 3.01% in Scotland (1 in 35 people)
