Blood testing services in Chelmsford move to town centre location

Content originally from Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust

We are moving some of our blood-testing (phlebotomy) services in mid Essex, allowing patients to be seen closer to home in a convenient town centre location. The current phlebotomy clinic at Christchurch in Chelmsford is closing, with services moving to the Chelmsford Central Health Hub from Monday 29th March.

This will expand the capacity of the service, ensuring more patients can be seen in a unit fully compliant with COVID-19 regulations including a one-way system and booths arranged to maintain social distancing.

Patients who had booked in Christchurch beyond this date were contacted to inform them of the new location. The Health Hub will initially be open from Monday to Friday, from 7am – 3pm. More information, including how to book appointments, can be found on our website here.

Blood testing services in Basildon Hospital and the Havens Hospice in Southend will also begin to move to new town-centre locations in Basildon and Southend. We are continuing to engage with patients and staff about the relocations.
