Our Information Team is keen to hear from anybody who has used patient transport or who has had to arrange travel to an appointment during COVID-19 in Essex. The NHS Blood & Transplant Service in Essex is making an urgent appeal for plasma donations that can be used for COVID-19 research. If you have have recently recovered from COVID-19, please consider donating your plasma so that research efforts can continue. Plasma can be stored for up to three years, providing valuable research opportunities well into the future. Find out how you can donate your plasma here
We’re looking for new Healthwatch Essex Ambassadors
Healthwatch Essex is recruiting for Ambassadors from across the county. This is a key role involving raising the profile of Healthwatch Essex and providing your own insight into health and social care services. The positions available will also offer an opportunity to work directly with the general public. More details available here.

Submit your ‘DDOP’
The start of March saw us launch an initiative called ‘Daily Doses of Positivity’, or DDOP for short. It involves encouraging people to share online images, quotes, memes, gifs or anything else that spreads positivity during these unprecedented times. Our talented illustrator, Libby, turns each of them into beautiful graphics and every morning we share one on our social media channels. Please send us your DDOP by emailing Sam.

Children returned to school this week and the Government is rolling out a new scheme where families with schoolchildren will receive two rapid-Covid tests, per person, per week. Find out more here.

More than 20% of 16-69-year-olds have now received the vaccine across Essex. The percentages are calculated using vaccine data from NHS England and estimated population figures from the Office of National Statistics.
