On Monday 14 December Mid and South Essex Health and Care Partnership is launching the MSE Festive Big Thank You to spread some festive cheer and to recognise how people across mid and south Essex have come together to fight coronavirus.
How you can get involved
We have designed this campaign around the five ways to wellbeing so there are a number of different ways you can get involved between 14 December and 24 December.
Give – send an e-card
Following on from the success of MSE Big Thank You campaign in October, we have produced a range of special festive designs so you can send e-cards to your friends and family to wish them season’s greetings and to thank them for all they have done in recent months. The toolkit also includes Microsoft Teams backgrounds and social media graphics.
You may also like to consider donating to a local foodbank. Find a local foodbank near you.
Learn – make a sustainable festive decoration
Why not make a sustainable decoration dedicated to someone and share it on social media with #MSEBigThankYou. Follow our step by step crafting sheet and take part at home with your family or with friends! Remember to take a photo and share on social media using the hashtags #MSEBigThankYou #2020Angels and we will share it with everyone else. Rainbows, Brownies and Girl Guide groups will be taking part in these activities across the region during the week. Please do share with local community groups and encourage them to get involved too!
Connect with others – take part in the ring the bell event on 24 December
As part of the MSE Big Festive Thank You we are asking local residents to spread some festive cheer and thank all our key workers and communities by standing on your doorstep and either ringing a bell, doorbell or lighting a candle at 6pm on Thursday 24 December. Encourage your neighbours, families, friends and colleagues to get involved! Please display the poster in your window, ask to pin it on your local community noticeboard or share it on your social media channels.
Be physically active
Get active and take part in free virtual workout sessions organised by Active Essex or take part in a local festive fun run for charity.
Be in the moment
Take some time for yourself to have some mindful time, whether it’s going for a walk, doing some meditation or making time for something you enjoy doing such as reading a good book! Read some tips for looking after your mental health this Christmas.
