People living with diabetes face a significantly higher risk of dying with COVID-19 with a third of deaths in England associated with the condition, according to new NHS research. The NHS is urging people with diabetes to use the help available to them, including a new dedicated diabetes helpline on 0345 123 2399 and online tools to help manage their condition during the outbreak.

The NHS is developing plans to continuing delivering its Diabetes Prevention Programme for eligible people through group telephone dial-ins. A video to helps people with diabetes to look after their feet is also available, as shown here.
