Health and Social Care Group Report

  1. The Officers of the Group met with representatives of Barnardos and Virgin Care on 26th June 2017. The representatives gave information about their forward plans and ways in which they were working closely with Essex County Council on Social Care for the under 18s. Information about their restructuring to provide joined up services will be made available for the HSCG website.
  2. On 13th July HSCG held their annual general meeting before a presentation on the work of Pharmacists.. The annual Report was summarised and the election of officers took place
  3. The meeting about the work of Pharmacists took place after the AGM. Govanni, Rowland and the Village Pharmacy all sent representatives who spoke at the meeting. There is some additional Q&A material arising from the meeting to be posted on the website.
  4. The next presentation will be on Wednesday 27th September and will be given by the Macmillan GP for the Mid Essex Care Commissioning Group Dr Liz Towers, someone from Farleigh as well as Sue White from CRUK.
  5. Discussions are to take place with the Combined Patient Participation Group to explore a closer working relationship. This is in line with one of the Lighthouse Project’s aims to improve self care in the community. The CPPG will have to change to accommodate the recommendations of the Lighthouse work and now seems a good time to ensure that all the initiatives relating to patients and the health of the general population be more integrated.
