Risk factors for suicide in children and young people in England – Office for National Statistics

From findings from research with the 2011 Census, one of the most striking findings is that suicide in children come 1.7 times higher in households where the HRP – household reference person, (the person who is the householder and where there is more than one householder it’s the one with the highest income) held a formal degree. In non-suicidal deaths the deaths in children from non-suicidal reasons were higher where the HRP did not have a formal degree.
