Improving GP access across mid & south Essex
Whilst it is very good to see the significant 5% increase in GP appointments provided in 2024 we do appreciate that has not been enough to match the unprecedented increase in demand. There is much patients can do to help; by taking all vaccinations to increase the waning immunity against so many illnesses where infections are rising so much; by not over using antibiotics and increasing resistance to them; by not wasting appointments by making them and then not attending; by consulting pharmacies first for minor conditions. Efforts are continuing to further increase GP appointments; but if we don’t also manage demand as much as we can this will be a continuing problem.
