overnment Announcement about Healthwatch
You may have seen in the news this weekend the announcement that the Government is planning to streamline patient safety bodies and bring patient voice functions ‘in-house’. This affects Healthwatch England and local Healthwatch. This was an unexpected announcement which has raised many questions.
Please be assured that at Healthwatch Essex, we are operating business as usual. We are continuing to deliver our work championing the public’s voice, including all previously agreed upon work. We are also still available for new projects.

Prior to the announcement, we were planning to share our 2024-25 Annual Report with you today. We would like to still take this opportunity to share the report with you, as it illustrates everything that we have achieved in the past year supporting patients as an independent voice of the public.
