As we approach the colder months, we are looking for case studies that help explain why local people choose to get vaccinated.
Perhaps you had flu as a child and have never forgotten how poorly you felt? Maybe you have a long term condition and are more at-risk from COVID-19? You might work in a hospital or care home that looks after people who are really sick and vulnerable to illness. Or maybe the advice of a midwife has meant you took action to protect yourself and your baby from winter viruses.
We are reaching out to our local community and asking for your stories. We would love to hear why you chose to get your winter vaccinations this year. Whether it’s to protect vulnerable loved ones, safeguard your health, or another reason, your experience could inspire others to do the same.
In particular, we are really keen to hear from those with a long-term condition like diabetes and COPD or who are offered a vaccination or women or people who are pregnant or have recently had a child. Your story could play a vital role in encouraging others to protect their health.
With your permission, we would like to share these stories as part of our public facing campaign – on our website, through our community outreach programme, and with the media to help encourage others to take up the offer of a vaccination.
If you’re happy to share your story as a case study, please email mseics.getinvolved@nhs.net. Your perspective will help us highlight the importance of winter vaccinations across the community. We look forward to hearing from you.
