Note from SWF Health & Social Care Group:
SWF Health & Social Care Group is holding a virtual public consultative meeting from 1830-2000 on Tuesday 5 March (full information to be published next week) where we will be gathering views and comments to inform the submission we’ve been invited to make to the public consultation inquiry session being held in Maldon on Tuesday 19 March; this affects everyone who lives in SWF and its surrounds who is a NHS patient and who does now, has in the past, or will in the future, need these primary level stroke, intermediate care, midwifery, investigative and outpatient services:

With just four weeks remaining for a consultation on changes to NHS services in mid and south Essex, we have produced a new video outlining what the proposals mean. At 15 minutes long, the short video can help busy residents get to grips with the proposals quickly. More detailed information can be found on a dedicated webpage. The The proposals discussed in the video include:

  • potential changes to the places where we provide some community hospital intermediate care and stroke rehabilitation services,
  • making permanent the temporary move of the freestanding midwife-led birthing unit from St Peter’s Hospital, Maldon to the William Julien Courtauld Unit at St Michael’s, Braintree.
  • the possibility of moving all other patient services at St Peter’s Hospital, Maldon to other locations, mostly in and around Maldon.
