Over the summer we asked Mid & South Essex Integrated Care Board this question:
In the context of your planning for the 2023-24 Winter Pressures, what does Mid & South Essex ICB, ICP and ICS require from central government and NHS England, and when, to enable you to put in place the necessary measures to provide a satisfactory overall health and social care service to the people of South Woodham Ferrers during the forthcoming winter? What such services will you prioritise?
The Mid and South Essex ICB response is: The ICB no longer receives “winter monies” as it has been recognised nationally that surge or pressures isn’t unique to winter. The ICB have received allocation of monies enabling the ICB to proactively fund additional capacity across mid and south Essex. Separately, in response to your question regarding South Woodham; Mid Essex Alliance and ICB work with Local Authority partners to ensure that services to support flow and discharge are in place. These are monitored and evaluated to ensure that they support people in their place of residence, maximise independence and reduce dependence on high packages of care through safe, timely discharge which is evidenced to reduce deterioration in a person’s optimum health. Thank you for your question, ensuring engagement and hearing views/questions from our residents is important to the ICB.
