Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is looking to bring two separate services, providing pathology (this includes blood tests) into one single service.
- This will be outsourced – following a review of best value for the
NHS pound and we are currently at the service specification
stage. - Bringing services together for our population follows the national
strategy to reduce variation of service and standardise the way
the service is delivered. - We expect to make the changes to a single provider in late
2024/early 2025 - People will not notice any changes to the places they currently
access pathology services, in fact with the Community
Diagnostics Programme there may be more places for tests.
