| Welcome to the autumn edition of our newsletter that showcases all the work being delivered by Mid & North East Essex Mind. As you read through, you’ll see much development of what we as your local mental health charity are providing across the locality, as well as the efforts that people go to, in order to help raise vital funds. October is always an important month as we celebrate World Mental Health Day. This year we once again continued with our annual Firewalk which was hosted by Writtle University College. This is always a popular event and while this was hosted within the Mid Essex area, which was a first for us, we still saw a great turnout of enthusiastic supporters. This month we also held our Annual General Meeting, and again this was within Mid Essex due to the fact we have been delivering services from Braintree since the start of the pandemic. Therefore, it felt right that it was held in the area, and what a great gathering it was on the afternoon. Its important that we all have a better understanding of mental health and how it can affect us on a daily basis. We know education supports this and is key to reducing the stigma that sadly still exists which is why we have expanded our training offer to support those within the workplace. In addition, we have also adapted our suicide awareness package to be more inclusive of various environments. Further information on this is highlighted later in the newsletter, please do make contact should you like to access the training available. There is one last thing to say before you read through the rest of this newsletter, and that is “Thank you to you all for your ongoing support towards the work that we do, it is appreciated by all of us here a Mid & North East Essex Mind”. I hope you enjoy the rest of the newsletter. James James McQuiggan, CEO Mid and North East Essex Mind |
