Supporting your Child’s Special Educational Needs

Content originally from Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System

It can feel a lonely place if your child has special educational needs or disabilities but help and support is available if and when you need it.

Your Local Offer

Information about support services and local opportunities for children and young people with SEND can be found from your Local Offer – find what you need all in one place.

A Local Offer gives children and young people with SEND, and their families, information about what support services the local authority think will be available in their local area. Every local authority is responsible for writing a Local Offer and making sure it is available for everyone to see.

Other information you can find on your Local Offer includes:

  • Information on Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Best practice advice and support
  • Advice and support with equipment
